Shipwreck conference

Every year in Plymouth UK there has been a Shipwreck conference on the first Saturday in Feb. This year will be there 30th year.

Over the years there has been some great speakers. It is a great place to meet friends and swap stories.

Last year there was standing room only with people coming from far and wide.

Not sure which speakers they have lined up this year, I think Mel Fishers grandson is one speaker.

you can check it out on http://www.shipwreckconference.org/

Just for a bit of fun: what do you think is the average age of the people at this gathering??

And why ??

Good dive yeasterday.

Had a good dive yesterday, found a piece of crud shaped like a bone, inside there is what looks like part of a ships fastening and a small latch.

Iron cannon that was used as a mooring post

Here is a iron cannon that Ray dug out of the ground and restored it, he then made a carriage for it. The cannon now lies at Yacht haven Quay Plymouth

A wooden Tampion, and yes that is where the word Tampon comes from.

Tide pool in Cornwall

Photos of a tide swimming pool at Treyarnon Bay in Cornwall, you can see in one of the photos where man has done his work, a long time ago one of the gaps in the rocks was close over with cermet and stone to strap the water in after a high tide.
I believe there are about 6 tide swimming pools in Cornwall
One of the photos is of the headland, somewhere off this headland close in there are large pieces of marble which came off a shipwreck. I have never found any myself but have heard of people who have. Always worth a look if your down that way.
One photo is of my son Noah.
